E-Cigarettes Changing the Way True Travellers See the World
Those of us who consider ourselves true travellers are among those individuals who like to get off the beaten path when exploring new places. We want to go where the locals go, do what the locals do and, whenever possible, be accepted among the locals as part of their communities. However, that often means participating in things we would not normally participate in at home. This can lead to some contradictions within personal convictions.
Let's take the idea of cigarette smoking as just one example. In Western culture, the idea of using tobacco is mostly taboo. Yet in some places in Africa, tobacco use is very much alive and even flourishing. Consider the fact that BAT just doubled down on its efforts to invest in operations in Kenya and Uganda. They fully intend to make their Kenya operations the centre of their tobacco business in Africa.
