Giving back to the community
A new and rather unique initiative comes from the management of the Aruba Coffee Roasting Company: together with its employees they spent a day working as volunteers at the Aruba Donkey Sanctuary. The owners of this special company, Frank and Sheri Tieleman, believe in the concept of giving back to the community and they urge their employees to do the same. As a 100 percent Aruban company they started at the Aruban Donkey Sanctuary as they view the donkey as a symbol of Aruban history.
Using this day to clear the area, the famous poop-scooping, feeding the donkeys and assisting the vet, the group thought it a wonderful experience; an example which they urge other Aruban companies to follow. And they don't stop here: they see this as the start of a long-term relationship and they look forward to supporting the Donkey Sanctuary on a more regular basis and in a more structural way.
The Aruba Coffee Roasting Company is well-known on the island because of its Coffee Break cafe in the center of Oranjestad, but they also import their own coffee from all over the world. The beans are burnt on Aruba. This coffee is also available for use at home and it is for sale at various local supermarkets as well as at the fun Coffee Break location.
