Minister Oduber receives Moon Aruba Handbook from author Rosalie Klein
ORANJESTAD, ARUBA January 12, 2014- Aruba’s Minister of Tourism, Transport, Primary Sector and Culture, Otmar Oduber, was pleased to receive a personal copy of the newly-published Moon Aruba Handbook, from Avon Travel Books line, authored by THE MORNING NEWS reporter and photographer Rosalie Klein.
The 256-page book, which offers insights on dining and accommodations “away from the tourist track,” provides some enlightening insights on the island, its history and people. The policies of Moon Handbooks are to be the “cure for the common trip,” with an emphasis on activities and amenities “for the adventurous and budget-minded.”
“I was very pleased and excited to be offered the contract to write this unusual guide of Aruba,” stated Ms. Klein. “It allowed me to take advantage of the knowledge acquired over my 34 years living on the island, as well as the opportunity to research and discover several pleasant surprises along the way.”
Minister Oduber and the CEO of the Aruba Tourism Authority (ATA) Ronella Tjin Asjoe-Croes, both expressed their pleasure that the guide focuses on the out of the ordinary, more authentic Aruban experience
The very attractive publication, which features 32 pages of color plates at the beginning of the book, is also unusual in that all the photographs in the entire volume are by the author, including the cover. The publisher’s Graphic Coordinator expressed this is quite unusual for their publications.
Moon Handbook Aruba hit bookshelves across the U.S. and Canada, including Barnes and Noble, on December 10 of last year. It is also available online from Amazon.com and dozens of other Internet booksellers. It has yet to arrive on Aruba, but a limited number of copies are available through the author, with a personal inscription, who can be contacted at
