Mother's Day 2015
I celebrated what you might call "Portugese style" yesterday, meaning lots of family and tons of food, with kids running around and enjoying the day with each other. I'm half kidding, as most cultures seem to celebrate by doing the same thing - gathering together and eating lots of wonderful food. Of the four grandmothers present, I was the second oldest, the oldest being Sandy's grandmother, who looks wonderful after having a coronary stent implant just weeks ago! The other two were Sandy's mom and aunt. I didn't even count all the grandchildren; I was grateful to be included in the celebration of all the mothers there.
I am also very grateful for all the comments of support for my blog - some brought a tear to my eyes - and I really appreciated all the comments. I'm committed to continuing the blog until I get back to California - and then I will blog when I have something to say.
I'll try to not gripe so much, and keep it on a lighter note if I can. I have been feeling really great the past few months, but have been overcome by a feeling lately that I can't explain. Hopefully I can just get on with life and stay positive. Stay tuned - there should be a surprise coming up at the end of the week!UPDATE: I forgot to add the latest puzzle we put together. I didn't like this one so much because I had a more difficult time figuring it all out!

Dreaded Job Finished, For Now
I'm talking about laundry, and it's dreaded because I have to wash the clothes, then load them into the car to dry them at a nearby laundry. It's really not that bad, but for some reason I hate doing it. The towels will wait until...

Good Day For A Birthday Party!
Yesterday was my grandson's birthday party, although he turned 7 last week. It was a gorgeous day, in the high 70's and sunshine. There were lots of kids and fortunately the weather was perfect for them to play outside. There...

Another Trip To "the Point"
Mike, Joshua and I went to West Point again today to the PX and Commissary. It is graduation weekend - with the ceremonies being next Tuesday, but it was crowded with proud families. Before that I looked out the window and saw one of the little...

I Want Spring Back!
This is about as hot as I like it - 83degrees! The next 3 days are going to be in the 90's but we'll be back in the 70's next after that. I hate hot weather! I think I'm past needing prescription pain meds, but I did take an...

Staying Dry Indoors!
I made a quick trip to Costco's pharmacy this morning, intending to go to the grocery afterwards. It started to rain in earnest as I came out of Costco and in just two blocks I revised my plans. Came home and tried to stay warm the rest...
