Romantic Dinners in Aruba
The Flying Fishbone is an excellent choice for a romantic dinner. DO make a reservation ASAP and request a table on the beach next to the water! If you want to be there for sunset, make your reservation about at least a half hour before. Being so close to the equator, the sun sets very quickly. Dh and I have never eaten there for sunset. Just too early for us after spending all day on the beach. The down side of the Flying Fishbone is that if you do not have a rental car, it is a very expensive taxi ride from the resort areas.
A similar dining experience can be found on Eagle beach at the Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort's Passions Restaurant. They have wide varied menu with something for everyone. Prices are bit less than the Flying Fishbone as well. They have extremely limited seating, so please make reservations well in advance so that you are not disappointed. I know someone who tried to make a reservation for a night during low season. Six months in advance, the night she wanted was already booked solid. I have written of two of our three dinners there here and here.
If you are on a budget, Marina Pirata is another romantic option and they are literally right down the road from the Flying Fishbone. Instead of dining on the beach, you would be dining on their dock which juts out over the water. No railing to mess up the view. The water is lit at night to attract the fish which in itself adds free entertainment. They do not have a website, but you can get an idea from their Facebook page. I always joke that this is a restaurant where you can get every local fish swimming around you. Fish is prepared grilled or pan fried and is accompanied by fried plantains, and a choice of rice, French fries, funchi, fried funchi or pan bati Dinner here for 3 with a couple of appetizers will run less than $100 and you will not go away hungry. Again, off the beaten path so a place to visit if you have a rental car.
If you are not on a budget and enjoy fine dining then Windows on Aruba at the Divi Golf Villas would suit your requirements. Tables at this restaurant overlook either the island green, swimming pool or ocean in the distance. No expense was spared for this very elegant Aruba restaurant with beautiful floor to ceiling windows, large elaborate armed chairs and granite topped tables with linen tablecloths or linen runners. Least you think it may be stuffy, our family of thirteen, including six children, ate dinner here on Christmas night in 2009 and even the "meat and potatoes" crowd raved. Here is a complete review of our first experience at Windows on Aruba

Marina Pirata Restaurant Aruba
Having a rental car this year, we returned to Marina Pirata after not having been in a few years. With a location in Savaneta, as lovely a setting as it is, the taxi fare from any of the resorts is very expensive. Think in the $50 round trip range. Marina...
