During the past two months telecom provider Setar has done a wonderful job for the Aruban Donkey Sanctuary: through an sms-fundraising event participants could win terrific weekly prizes. The event has generated a whopping AWG. 7.500,-- [$4188.92 USD], which is a very welcome amount, seeing that a new sanctuary is being built at Bringamosa.
The current sanctuary is a tight fit for the large number of donkeys, now already more than 130, so our donkeys has been divided over three locations, among them the private garden of a board member. By means of various fundraising events and donations we hope to be able to get all the donkeys united on one site.
Also at this time, during the final week of the Setar event, our new donkey calendar has come out; it is available for AWG. 25,-- [$13.96 USD].
And now it is time to announce the winner of the grand prize of the nine week-long Setar fundraiser: an all-inclusive weekend stay for two at the wonderful Occidental Resort: Janneke Ponsioen. Well done and pabien, Janneke!
You can still help the Donkey Sanctuary by adopting one of their donkeys.
