Thai Cuisine Restaurant, Stavanger. Simply Delicious
When we visited Stavanger this summer, we had the pleasure to dine at one of the best restaurants in town - Thai Cuisine Restaurant. Located in the heart of the city, on one of the most beautiful and colorful streets in Scandinavia, Thai Cuisine Restaurant welcomed us in this wonderful wooden house with floor to ceiling windows, fresh roses on the table and authentic Thai cuisine.
Now you might wonder why Thai food in Norway? The answer is simple - because we love it. And we don't believe one should give up on the simple pleasures in life when traveling, on the contrary.

Chicken pandanus and Thai samosa |
We were greeted by a smiling face as soon as we entered the restaurant and the friendly treatment continued throughout the evening. We met Chef Alyssa and the restaurant's owner, two extraordinary people, and they made us feel extremely welcomed. The fact that they took time in the middle of their busy schedule to come to our table to make sure we were happy with the food and the service was the sweetest gesture ever. This restaurant is their baby and you can really see how they invest in it all they have best in themselves, with the utmost passion and love for what they are doing.

Grilled salmon with Panang curry |
All dishes were beautifully decorated and incredibly tasty. But I fell in love with the grilled salmon in my plate above all else. If you are into salmon, then you must try this, believe me. It was the best I've had in my life. Their Panang curry salmon is worth going all the way to Stavanger.
We chose a table right by one of the huge windows and throughout the dinner we watched the sunset over the bay at the end of the street. The whole experience was magical. Good wine, delicious food, great ambiance and the sun setting in our plate...

Besides an incredible menu offer, the staff at Thai Cuisine Restaurant also seems to be very flexible and would always adapt to your needs. More than that, their children menu is far from Pizza Margarita and fried potatoes. They go beyond what the average restaurant would do and prepare Thai dishes starting from the ingredients each kid in particular likes best. Now if this is not a family friendly restaurant, I don't know which one is.
I personally find this an amazing idea, because most people in spite of having a love relationship with food, tend to stick their whole life with the same few dishes and flavors they experienced during childhood. But food education should start in early life, and that's exactly what Thai Cuisine Restaurant stands for. Experienced taste buds can only lead to an enriched life.
As all dishes were hearty, we were afraid we would have to skip the dessert, though somehow we managed to find room for it in the end. The combination of sticky rice and mango was simply divine. I never knew mango could taste so good. I guess this stands as proof of the quality and freshness of the ingredients they use at Thai Cuisine Restaurant and of how much they care about their guests.

We loved this little restaurant in Stavanger and if our footsteps ever take us to Stavanger again, we will surely visit them again. And if not, maybe we'll find an excuse to go back and pay a visit to these sweet people and their restaurant just the same.
