VIDEO: The Other Face Of Afghanistan

Lukas and Salome Augustin surprised in this video a part of Afghanistan we never get to see on the news. Between foreign forces, explosions and terror, it seems that the time stood still for a moment, allowing them to portray the Afghan people and their daily lives in a vivid and serene manner. Afghanistan is not the first country  to be torn apart by war and fleeting ideologies and the Afghans are not the first people ever to live in fear, disillusioned and with a low self-esteem either. But we are all humans, and while mistakes are part of our lives, we should also try to learn from the past. Watching this makes me feel we generalize too much, believe more than we should in the impartiality of the media and mistake the people for the ones who rule them way too often.

- Chemtrails
I've been doing some online reading about the subject of chemtrails, and am providing some links to YouTube videos on it. If you only watch one of the videos, this is the one to see.  It features pilots, doctors, and scientists speaking at a...

- Problems With Aol Mail
I've just been able to access my AOL mail and it's nearly 2:00 pm!  I don't know what their problem was but it affected a lot of people from what I can tell.  I was talking to my son on the phone about it, and he replied that I could...

- A Resting-up Day
I certainly don't have the stamina I once had.  Just a little bit of shopping yesterday and I need a day of rest. I actually am amazed at how confident and hopeful I am in what the future holds for me, although at the same time I feel as if I'm...

- The 'hoek' Is On Fire
I had been to Noordhoek beach once upon a time.  In the heat of the day, with friends we jumped in the sand and pretended that we might chance getting our toes numbed in the frozen ocean.  But never before had I turned the corner and seen such...

- Video: Solo Hiking Through Iceland & The Psychology Of The Adventure Traveler
It's become a fashion in the last years for people of all ages to try to go the extra mile. But my background in psychology tells me this is no coincidence, not now when depression is transforming into an epidemic. We live in a donkey with a carrot...
