World's Largest Photo. Budapest In 70 Gigapixels

Never been to Budapest before but always wanted to see its Parliament building and bridges up close? Well, you are in luck, as this summer you can wander on the streets of Budapest in the the world's largest photo.

The amazing 70 Gigapixels 360° panoramic photograph was taken from a 100-year-old observation tower built on the highest point of Budapest. The young Hungarian photographers worked on it for over four days and used two 25-megapixel Sony A900 cameras fitted with a 400mm Minolta lens and 1.4 X teleconverters. 20,000 test images later, the file was processed to create a single interactive 200GB photo.

You can zoom in and out and explore Budapest all you want. There's no way to get lost. You can pick inside people's houses and even zoom in to see an insect, thought sometimes if you get into too many details, the image could get blurry and pixelated, but still fun to play around with - almost like Google Earth. Under the photo some of the landmarks of Budapest are highlighted to save you the time and the effort of trying to find things yourself. For the best effect, click the top button on the control bar to get into the full screen mode.

The supersized panoramic 70 Gigapixels photo of Budapest is for now the biggest in the world, but the record will probably be broken soon, as this year only the top changed three times - first the 26 gigapixels photo of Paris, then the 45 gigapixels photo of Dubai and now the almost double in size photo of Budapest.
