6 French Dishes for Adventurous Foodies
Ah, France. Just hearing the name makes my mouth water and imagination floating away to butter croissants, amazing mussels with French fries, various Cassoulets and yummy hot onion soup.

I came to the point that the best way to explore France is through food. There are so many amazing traditional dishes that could be found only in specific regions. Think Tarte Flambée in Alsace, Ratatouille and Bouillabaisse in Provence; Cervelle de canut and Quenelles are the best French foods from Lyon, plus Raclete and Coq au vin jaune are must-tries in Franche-Comte!
However, the more I explore the French food, the more I realize how specific and weird some French foods may be for a foreigners taste.
Here are five French delicacy you’d better think twice before pointing on the menu:
1. Escargot
Traditional French appetizer made of land snails, served with garlic butter, spices and white wine. Insanely delicious!
