About Richard Branson's Interview and His Legacy
Sir Richard Charles Nicholas Branson, better known as Richard Branson, is a British entrepreneur, investor and business magnate, who is world famous as the founder and chairman of the Virgin Group. His conglomerate consists of close to 400 companies.
Richard Branson has been an inspiration to thousands of entrepreneurs who are keen on reaching the same heights of success as Branson. While this is easier said than done, many of Richard Branson’s interviews and quotes serve as advice to novice entrepreneurs, who are venturing tentatively into the world of start-ups and own business ventures.
Richard Branson’s Business Achievements
He was just 16 years old when he started his first business venture. The first venture was a magazine called Student. Then in 1970, Branson started a mail order business, followed by a chain of record stores in 1972. Virgin Records became extremely popular and went on to be known as Virgin Megastores. The Virgin brand saw meteoric rise in the 1980s, with Richard Branson giving birth to the Virgin Atlantic Airways that operated flights from Heathrow and other popular airports across the world.
The story of how Virgin Atlantic Airways started is quite fascinating, just like how Heathrow Express started and made the lives of commuters flying out of London so convenient and easy. For those who may not know, the Express is the airport rail link that connects the Heathrow Airport to the Paddington Station in London. This unique rail service opened its doors to public in 1998, with trains leaving Paddington Station every 15 minutes from 05.15 in the morning until 11.25 in the night. Similarly, trains leave from Heathrow every 15 minutes.
The Express has two stops at Heathrow; one is the Heathrow Central that allows travellers to access Terminals 1 and 3 and then, there is the Heathrow Terminal 5. From Paddington Station, it takes 15 minutes to reach the first stop and 21 minutes to Terminal 5.
Just like how Virgin Atlantic Airways made international flight easy and affordable, the Express train has made commute across London to reach Heathrow Airport convenient and affordable.
