Apple Leisure Group Signs First Resort Deal in Aruba

Company Enters Eighth Country with Signing of Zoëtry Isla Di Oro Aruba

PHILADELPHIA, PA (March 30, 2015) — Apple Leisure Group® subsidiary, AMResorts®, has announced its fifth hotel in the first quarter of 2015 with the signing of Zoëtry® Isla Di Oro Aruba. The contract brings AMResorts’ award-winning brand Zoëtry Wellness & Spa Resorts to Aruba for the first time and expands Apple Leisure Group’s rapidly growing footprint to its eighth country.

“Aruba reached the one-millionth tourist mark in 2014 and saw a 3.7 percent increase in arrivals from U.S. travelers*,” said Alex Zozaya, CEO of Apple Leisure Group. “Now is the perfect time to enter the market and introduce our world-class products and services to Aruba’s booming tourism industry.”

The intimate resort will be one of the first properties in the Caribbean featuring overwater bungalow-style accommodations, offering a unique experience to guests visiting the region. The 126 spacious suites will overlook a secluded inlet featuring magnificent views of the water and surrounding tropical landscape. The resort, owned by developer/hotelier, Franz Sydow, and an international investment group, will start construction in 2015 and welcome guests in the summer of 2018. Upon opening in the Isla Di Oro area, this will be the fifth property for the luxury boutique hotel brand Zoëtry Wellness & Spa Resorts.

“Entering Aruba with a resort offering that is different from anything in our portfolio demonstrates Apple Leisure Group’s ability to merge owners’ interests and travelers’ desires with opportunities in the market,” said Javier Coll, Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer of Apple Leisure Group. “Our multi-faceted industry expertise is a valuable resource for those interested in bringing luxury resorts to the Caribbean, as we know where travelers want to go and how to strategically position owners in those markets.”

Apple Leisure Group is a major driver of business to the Caribbean, delivering every two out of 10 travelers to the region.

Guests visiting Zoëtry Isla Di Oro Aruba will experience all of the benefits of Zoëtry Wellness & Spa Resorts’ Endless Privileges® vacation concept which offers unparalleled amenities including: finely appointed accommodations, no check-in or check-out times, maid service three times daily, gourmet a la carte dining options with an assortment of organic food and beverage selections, unlimited top-shelf spirits, 24-hour concierge service and private in-suite dining, and more.

“Aruba’s award-winning beaches, vibrant local culture and natural beauty make it the right addition to our strong Caribbean portfolio and the ideal destination to grow our Zoëtry brand,” said Gonzalo del Peon, President of AMResorts. “With more than 100 non-stop flights from 14 gateways in the U.S., and connecting flights from almost every major U.S. and Canadian city every week*, the island is also an easily accessible piece of paradise for North American travelers.”
