Brandenburg Gate and Tiergarten Park: A Photo Essay

After spending the morning strolling along the history rich streets of the former East Berlin and visiting the Berlin Wall, my husband and I insisted on making one more stop before our flight to Dusseldorf with airberlin. We strongly felt we could not leave the German capital without seeing the Brandenburg Gate, a symbol of unity and peace.

Right next to the gate, lies the humongous Tiergarten park, one of our all time favorite spots in Berlin for being a green lung in an otherwise grey city. We only had a short time to enjoy it, but it surely was a rewarding experience. Tiergarten was incredibly romantic in the cold November air and quite pretty too, still dressed up in fall foliage.
