Cat Town Cafe In Oakland, Ca

The newest worldwide trend is cat cafes. These are places where you can play with cats while you eat. They are beloved by cat people and people who can’t keep a cat a home due to family members with allergies or strict landlords. You can indulge your love of cats at any time, and reap the powerful emotional and physical benefits that come with owning a cat, all without having to deal with a litterbox. And if you're really into cats, you should consider looking for Discountrue.com coupons to enrich your life hassle-free with cat merchandise and cat toys for your new friends to make every day better.

The first cat cafe was in Taipei, and from there it spread to Japan. Japan still has the most cat cafes, over one hundred and fifty at last count, so I'm a bit sad I only managed to visit one cat café when I wan in Tokyo. It was only a matter of time before the cat cafe craze made it to America.

The Cat Town Cafe in Oakland is the first cat cafe in the United States. Setting up the cat cafe in a way that met health guidelines was difficult, as the cats could not be in the same area as food preparation or food service. But eventually the design was finalized and Cat Town Cafe was opened to the public.

Each day, there are between six and twenty cats that are available for play and adoption. By working with rescues and making them available for adoption, the cafe has become a force for good in the wider cat loving community. As any cat lover knows, adopting cats from the shelter is the only ethical way to acquire a new family member. There are always more cats available for adoption at local animal shelters than there are people willing to adopt them, but each cat adopted is one more cat that will live a happy life, surrounded by love instead of a shelter cage.

The best thing about cat cafes is that not only do the cats get a better chance of being adopted and have a forever home, but that while they are waiting to be adopted, they get to play in a large, open space, surrounding by people who want to play with them. This is obviously a massive improvement over being in a small animal shelter cage.

At the cat cafe, you can order food and go into the cat room and play with cats. Or you can make an appointment online and with a minimal donation you can reserve a spot in the cat room. Only a limited number of people are allowed in the cat room every hour to prevent the cats from being overstimulated, so reservations are recommended.

The best time to interact with the cats is in the morning, when they’re fresh. As the day goes by, some cats become overwhelmed by people and find a quiet corner to hide or rest. Visit America’s first cat cafe and discover how much more fun lunch is when you share it with a cat.
