Grand Place, Brussels. A Photo Essay
Walking around the Grand Place is one of the best things you can do in Brussels. This is one of the most beautiful squares in Europe, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, featuring architectural styles from three different time periods.
This summer while Interrailing through Europe, we spent quite a lot of time photographing the buildings of the Grand Place and exploring all the chocolate shops, including the Chocolate Museum in the square. And since we visited during the Floralientime Flower Festival, the Grand Place was even more beautiful than usual.
The Grand Place is surrounded by guildhalls, the incredible 96 meters high Town Hall, and the Maison du Roi (King's House), housing the Museum of the City of Brussels (home of the original Manneken Pis and his extensive wardrobe). Definitely our favorite place in the city!
We visited Brussels in collaboration with visitbrussels.be and Interrail. However, all opinions and photos are our own and based on our personal experience.
