Over 55,000 music fans are making their way to Robin Hill Country Park, a beautiful wonderland with lakes and winding paths, as I write. It's the 7th installment of Bestival, the 3 days boutique music festival from the lovely Isle of Wight, UK and it looks like it's going to be lots of fun. Hundreds of artists, headlined by The Prodigy, The Flaming Lips and Dizzee Rascal will perform at Bestival 2010 and the traditional Fancy Dress Parade will kick of in the Fire Field at 2.30pm on Saturday. 2010 is the Year of the Fantastic and so festival goers will be dressed in fantasy outfits. Anything from Alice in Wonderland to King Arthur would do.

The festival was completely sell-out months ago and this years's Bestival might turn our to be the best one so far, if only it won't rain as some forecasters have predicted for Saturday. However, several changes have been made to the site since 2008, when heavy rains turned the place into a mud bath and problems of this kind should be avoided.

The festival is heavily involved in supporting social, political and environmental causes and in 2009 it received the "Outstanding" Greener Festival Award. The campsite opened today at midday and the festivities will start in just about a few hours, at midnight.
