Photo Of The Week: Sunrise in Hawaii
|
December sunrise. Photo by ashmieke |
Many consider Hawaii to be Heaven on Earth. Hawaii’s natural beauty, warm tropical climate and active volcanoes make it a popular destination for tourists and scientists alike. This photo was taken in Kāhala, Honolulu, one of the upper-class districts that feature some of the most expensive beachfront properties in the city. I love the colors of this December sunrise captured by Flickr user ashmieke. It makes me think that nature paints its way with or without human presence. The sun lounges sleep on the beach soothed by the lazy waters of the ocean... and while this is a serene atmosphere, there is so much going on quietly in the background. It seems to me that nature is self-sufficient. And while we try to rise above it, we are nothing but star dust in a very special relationship with the Universe.
If you like taking pictures of sunrises, don't forget to add you photos to the Travelocafe group on Flickr (with Creative Commons licensing). Your shot might be the next Photo Of The Week.
