RIU introduces Wi-Fi internet in the rooms and communal areas of its hotels in America

Aruba Bound
Palma de Mallorca, 25th October 2012- In its constant effort to improve the service for guests and modernise its facilities, RIU Hotels & Resorts has just announced the introduction of wireless internet in its hotels on the American continent. Guests at RIU's resorts in Mexico, Punta Cana (Dominican Republic), Jamaica, the Bahamas, Aruba, Florida (United States) and Costa Rica can now enjoy a high quality internet connection in all the communal areas and rooms. What's more, in the hotels of the Riu Palace range, this service will be free from 1 November.

The hotels of the Riu Classic range will still offer free internet access in the lobby, and guests will now also have the option to purchase a connection in the rooms and other communal areas. Guests of Riu Palace, the most luxurious holiday range, will enjoy this extra service for free from 1 November.

Thanks to this, all RIU guests will be able to connect to the internet using their own devices in all the communal areas and rooms. And for guests not travelling with their own equipment, there will still be the 'Business corners' in the Sports Bars and Lounge 24. Here, guests can pay for the use of a computer and connection, as has been the case up until now.

About RIU: The international RIU chain was founded in Mallorca by the Riu family in 1953 as a small holiday firm and is still owned by the family’s third generation. The company specialises in holiday resorts and 60% of its establishments offer its acclaimed All Inclusive by RIU service. With the inauguration of its first city hotel in 2010, RIU is expanding its range of products with its own line of city hotels called Riu Plaza. RIU Hotels & Resorts now has more than 100 hotels in 16 countries which welcome over 3,2 million guests a year and provide jobs for a total of 25,000 employees. RIU is currently the world’s 30th ranked chain, one of the Caribbean’s most popular and the fourth largest in Spain.
