Smart People Travel Light

Be a smart, one-bag packer
Yesterday I saw this skinny girl struggling with not one, but two huge pink carry-on bags. Holy cat! What on earth did she pack in there, her whole wardrobe or her two secret lovers? I always travel light. However the incident made me wonder about the reasons why people over pack when they go on holiday and I came up with one big, fat explanation: INSECURITY. We don't really know what to expect at the other end of our flight and what's going to happen while we are away from the comforts of our home. When we pack all the 'if's together, we end up with a luggage double the size we will otherwise need. There are a number of benefits for traveling light, while dealing with the unfamiliar and unpredictable is part of the self-discovery process we all undergo while in foreign lands.

Travel light to save money. I bet everybody wants to travel light but not everybody manages to do so. After all, the road to hell is paved with good intentions... By traveling light, not only will you avoid paying all those excess luggage fees, but you will also be able to move around more freely and take the public transportation instead of a taxi. Not to mention that you might want to buy some souvenirs and the last thing one needs while on vacation is to stress about packing and carrying the extra baggage.

Travel light and stress-free. Of all the travel skills you might acquire, traveling light is the one most likely to result in enjoyable, productive, and a stress-free travel experience. Most airlines let you have a fairly reasonable sized cabin luggage. Choose a carry-on lightweight bag that has a rectangular shape to maximize interior space or a lightweight backpack. By traveling only with the cabin luggage you don't have to check in your belongings, nor to entrust them to the care of others and you are much less likely to lose your stuff to theft, damage, or miss-routing.

Travel light and enjoy it. Be a smart, one-bag packer. Less luggage means greater mobility and more travel options. You don't have to arrive at the airport as early, you can easily take the train, the tram, or the subway upon arrival, you save yourself time by not having to wait at baggage claim after a long day of travel and you can comfortably walk to your hotel, or for those of you traveling on a shoestring budget, to your hostel or couchsurfing host. You can always buy more stuff at your destination, so there's really no need to pack every toiletry known to mankind.

- New Cabin Size Restrictions & The Constellation Cabin Approved Cases
You may or may not be aware of the new baggage allowance limit that swiped the European low-cost flight carriers this year. And the news is all bad. Well, almost. Thing is, the luggage capacity permitted on board shrunk. And this kind of infuriates me,...

- Traveling To Aruba With Prescription Medication
Do yourself the favor of avoiding lots of aggravation and pack your prescription medications in your carry on. It may be more convenient to pack them in your luggage, but what would you do if you end up in Aruba without your luggage and thus no medicine?...

- Christmas Presents To Aruba
