Tips: Baggage & Packing For Aruba
- Airlines are required to refund any fee for carrying a bag if the bag is lost
- Airlines are required to compensate passengers for reasonable expenses for loss, damage or delay in the carriage of passenger baggage.
- Airlines are required to disclose baggage fees when passengers book a flight.
- Airlines are required to apply baggage allowances and fees the same throughout a passenger’s journey.
- Airlines must now prominently disclose all optional fees on their websites, including but not limited to fees for baggage, meals,
canceling or changing reservations, or advanced or upgraded seating.
Carry On BaggageThe only guarantee against loss or damage to your valuables is to keep them with you.
Full flights which run out of room in the cabin must resort to "gate check" of the carry-on bag. The carry on will be taken from you before entering the
plane and will be waiting for you at your destination as you de-plane.
Pack your carry-on in a way that if it must be gate checked, you can quickly remove your priority items:
- Small valuables: jewelry, an expensive camera.
- Critical items: medicine, keys, passport, tour vouchers, business papers.
- Irreplaceable items: manuscript, heirlooms.
- Fragile items: eyeglasses, glass containers, liquids.
Take the items described above and pack them in a small soft bag, easily accessible in your carry-on bag, which will fit under the seat in front of you.
