10 Nativity Scene Photos from Spain

It is an important Christmas tradition in Spain to design intricate nativity scenes and display them in public places. And for my husband and I it is a fun tradition to go see them every year. I wasn't going to publish yet another nativity post this year, but then when I pulled the photos off the camera I couldn't resist temptation, mostly because this year I received my first DSLR and I believe the photos I took this time around are so much better than the ones from last year. Plus the nativity scenes change from one year to another, meaning that the artists behind them actually rack their brains to do them different every year, so I thought they also deserved some appreciation for their efforts.

The first photo is from the 'Nativity Scenes from Around the World' Exhibition organized yearly in one of the shopping malls from Valencia. Every year artists from different countries send over a small nativity scene to be displayed here. Last year my favorite was from Netherlands, but this year the one from Nepal was unquestionably my favorite. I wish I could purchase these figurines from somewhere and display them in my living room. The costumes are simply stunning, don't you agree?

All the other photos are however from two different nativity scenes from Valencia, one from a subway station and the other from a shopping mall. One of them was animated and the lights would go on and off periodically simulating the passing of days. I love how the daily activities were represented and each scene told a story.
