Ideas for the Next Easter Holidays
Summer may only just be bidding us farewell but many families are already planning their Easter break for next year. This may seem a little premature to some but in reality it makes an awful lot of sense. The October half term will invariably be cold, Christmas is a time to stay at home with family, spring school break is still very chilly, so the next plausible holiday when you can expect warmer weather is Easter.
The Easter holidays are also somewhat of a celebration; the time when the last shreds of winter give way to spring and nature is at it’s finest. The British countryside never looks as beautiful as it does at this time of year with wildlife rousing from their winter slumber and the flora springing into life.
After a long, dark winter it is the ideal time to get out into the fresh air again and recharge your batteries in anticipation of the summer ahead. You may, however, want to feel a bit of guaranteed sun on your back and prefer to fly somewhere for your Easter break. It’s a good time of year to take the kids abroad as temperatures are lower and the larger resorts and attractions are generally a lot less crowded.
It is still a very popular time to take a family holiday but there is plenty of accommodation to be found. A simple internet search will swamp you with results so before you start narrow it down to where you want to go and what kind of accommodation you want to stay in. If you haven’t considered it before, it may be worth looking at accommodation that is rented out by the owners as opposed to companies.
These could be second or holiday homes that the owners themselves use when they aren’t being rented out and this alone gives you an assurance that you are renting a good quality accommodation for your Easter break. They will have all the modern conveniences you would expect and as Brits own holiday homes all over Europe, and often further afield, you will have no problem tracking one down in the country you are most interested in visiting, you will be spoilt for choice, be it at home or away.
Countries closer to Britain such as France enjoy the same kind of spring as we do with an abundance of colour whereas those a bit further afield, Turkey and Greece for example, are already bathed in sunshine that is comfortable and allows pools to be warmed sufficiently for families to splash about in. Either way an Easter holiday overseas could be just what you need to rejuvenate your spirits.
Take your time deciding where you want to go as everywhere has something special to offer around Easter time. If you are staying in the UK look for activities in nearby towns and villages such as Easter egg hunts. If looking to venture overseas see if there are any festivals on to get an idea of how our continental cousins celebrate this religious holiday.
