Rediscovering the Childhood's Joys at Legoland, Denmark

Today not so early in the morning we used our Interrail Passes to take the train from Aarhus to Vejle (I love this Danish city's poetic pronunciation and the way it roles on my tongue) and from there we took the bus (not covered by our Interrail Passes) to Legoland.

Turn the page! You're like the slowest reader ever!

As we were approaching the famous theme park, the kids and adults alike become unpatient.

But when we actually entered the park, the image was surreal. It had been raining intermitently all morning and people dressed in Legoland yellow ponchos were rumiating all over the place. The bad weather didn't seem to have scared the people away nor was it preventing them from having fun.

Legoland is a dream came true. My favorite part is just at the entrance where the miniature cities are. My husband's is the new Star Wars section, though for him no matter how many Star Wars reproductions there were, probably they would have never been enough. Some of the figurines are animated, other make stange noises and finaly some of them blow smoke through their noses.

Between the miniature cities we also discovered Bergen, one of the places we are going to visit in a few days time, and we were smitten by its unspoiled beauty. We are hardly waiting to get to that part of our InterRail trip now.

The level of detail of the miniature towns is absolutely amazing!

Legoland was so much more than we expected in the first place. I don't know why I expected a theme park made out of plastic. However, instead we discovered this super green place, with abundant and perfect looking lawn, trees and flowers, with streams and waterfalls.

Gold rush at Legoland

In the afternoon, the rain was gone for good and the sun was beautifuly shinning between some gorgeous puffy clouds.

We went on almost every ride. Probably because of the rain in the morning the cues were't as unbearable as in other theme parks and with pleasure we discovered that the rides here are actually more family friendly and less agressive than in other theme parks too.

There is a newly open Polar Land rollercoaster for the more adventurous however, but we didn't go on it. We usualy like better the rides any 3 years old could go on :)

One atraction we strongly recommend is the 4D adventure at Lego studio. Expect water and foam! The short movie it's all in English, not even subtitled in Danish and that more than surprised us. But as we were saying in the previous post, Danish people speak perfect English from a young age, no need for translation.

I can't remember when was the last time I've seen so many happy faces together. Kids were not crying like in other theme parks we've visited before, they were rather laughing, and the atmosphere was super relaxed and totally cool.

We had so much fun at Legoland today! Therefore we think any visit to Denmark should include a day trip to the famous theme park.
