There are hotels that offer accommodation. And there are hotels that make you dream with your eyes opened. Radisson Blu Scandinavia from Oslo is one of the latest.
Location
Radisson Blu Scandinavia is situated right in the city center, by the Royal Palace and Park. It takes only minutes to walk to the National Theater, the Town Hall and Aker Brygge, the amazing harbor-front so popular for dinning and shopping opportunities that receives over 12 million visitors a year, making it the most popular destination in Norway.

Our Room
Our room was at the 12th floor, and we basically had front row seats at the midnight sun. We visited in mid-July and therefore this amazing natural phenomenon wasn't at it's strongest point anymore, but we were still very happy to be able to look at a gorgeous orange sky even at 2AM. We just couldn't pull the curtains, but instead we watched this incredible sky for hours while comfortably lying in bed. We are pretty conscious that we couldn't have had experienced these magnificent views from many other place in the city.
The room was fairly spacious, and it was uniquely decorated in warm colors with pop art influences.
Apart from spectacular views over Oslo's historical buildings, our room featured a comfy bed, coffee and tea facilities, bathrobes and sleepers.
Upon arrival we were welcomed with a complimentary bottle of water and a little something sweet waiting for us in our room.
Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel from Oslo is a 22-storey modern building that dominates the skyline. At the bottom you can spot the huge breakfast room and at the top, the 2-storey high Summit Bar.
The lobby
The lobby has a perfect contemporary design that we loved. The combination of lights, leather and fresh cut roses on every table makes this a great place to see and be seen. More intimate, the ENZO Bar & Restaurant serves Mediterranean dishes in an adjacent room.
The Summit Bar
The moment we walked in the Summit Bar, at the 21st floor of the Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel, we were smitten. The views over Oslo and the fjords can't get any better than this, and watching the twilight from here was surreal. We had two incredible cocktails in this super romantic atmosphere, and as far as we are concerned, in our book, this bar is one of the most beautiful experiences we had in Oslo, together with the midnight sun, of course.
Breakfast
You know that feeling you get when presented with too many best choices it is almost impossible for you to choose? Well, that's how we felt in front of the buffet breakfast at Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel. Everything looked so yummy and the presentation was very creative. For the first time we tasted brunost, the famous Norwegian brown cheese, traditionally made from the whey of the goat's milk which is boiled for hours until caramelized. We simply loved this unusual cheese, but there were so many other flavors to experience too.
The breakfast had clear Norwegian influences, as there was a great variety of cheeses and fish dishes available, as well as plenty types of bread to choose from. But what surprised us further was the array of vegetables and fruits served as well. It would be unfair to describe it as a complete breakfast. What they serve every morning at Radisson Blu Scandinavia from Oslo is an extremely luxurious feast that put a smile on our faces for the rest of the day.
For the two of us, Radisson Blu Scandianvia Hotel from Oslo meant ticking off one item from our bucket list. Though our desire to go back next year and see the midnight sun at its best is even greater now, staying in this hotel gave us the opportunity to get a glimpse of it, you know, like a preview. And for that, this hotel will forever have a special place in our hearts.
