At Thon Hotel EU is impossible to feel out of place. Even before arriving at the reception desk, we meet guests of all ages doing more or less quiet activities in the colorful and welcoming reception. The atmosphere is youthful nevertheless, and the staff is a bunch of twentysomethings with big smiles on their faces and incredibly professional attitudes.

As we do the check-in, we are surprised by the efficiency of the staff behind the desk. If we usually have to ask for WIFI passwords and breakfast times, at Thon Hotel EU all the information is provided to us in one breath. By the time the young lady finishes reciting the welcome message, we ran out of questions ourselves. It feels good to have our needs met before they even arise.
Thon Hotel EU is located amongst modern and formal European Institutions. And though the immediate vicinity doesn't have any other remarkable tourist attractions, it is fairly central located. There's a subway station just across the street and the train station a 5 minutes walk away, so nothing to complain in terms of transportation.
As we find out way to the room, we have to pass two security checks. Each door opens with the use of the key card we were given at the reception at the moment of the check-in.
Our room has a modern and sleek decor, mainly in black and white, with dashes of orange for a fresh and youthful atmosphere. It is also spacious and comfortable, and the sound proof windows work miracles. There are coffee and tea facilities, a safety deposit box and a flat TV screen. While the bathroom is awesome, with an ample sink and cool, if a bit formal decor.
But my favorite part of the hotel is the breakfast room and the bar. Ultra modern I would describe it and very colorful and cheerful for sure. Since Thon EU has almost 500 rooms, they have common areas able to accommodate the guests in case of full occupancy. The inner courtyard is another great space to grab a drink if weather permits, sunken in comfy armchairs, among lush green plants.
Oh, and there are large scale black and white photos and murals all over the hotel, depicting anything from smiling toddlers to seductresses and underdressed young man about to take a swim. Gorgeous pictures all of them if you ask me, guaranteed to draw the guests attention.
Breakfast is fabulous, just as expected from a hotel with so many rooms, and perfectly organized as well. We never feel rushed and there always are plenty of tables available. Plus the variety of dishes is fit for queens and kings.
Thon Hotel EU is perfect for both business and leisure. With a very young atmosphere, it is great for families and young adults alike, but I wouldn't exclude anyone young at heart. We loved the efficiency and the friendliness of the staff, the breakfast spread and of course the cool design.
